Babylon Town Historical Society – Established in 2006, this historical society represents the hamlets of the Town of Babylon, including West Babylon, and is headquartered at historic Van Bourgondien House.

The Tudor-style house was built for Cornelius and Clara Van Bourgondien in 1929. The Van Bourgondiens operated C.J. Van Bourgondien Nurseries, on the surrounding property, until 1975. In the 1970s, the property was acquired by Suffolk County and the house was designated to the Suffolk County Historic Trust in 2007. |
The mission of the Babylon Town Historical Society shall be to collect, preserve, research, and interpret the history of the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, New York, and thereby to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of our town’s history.
