Services for the Disabled
The Services for the Disabled and Senior Citizen Community Services Division is located at 281 Phelps Lane, in North Babylon. They can be contacted directly at (631) 893-1050 or by email at sbrown@townofbabylon.com. This Division is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents with disabilities and serves as a focal point for information, referral and technical assistance to physically and mentally challenged individuals and senior citizens. Division responsibilities include:
- The issuance of handicapped parking permits
- Plans and organizes programs to stimulate, promote, encourage and advance the moral, physical, mental and social well-being of Babylon's disabled residents
- Provides transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping on designated times during the week

Handicap Parking Permit Applications are available online or can be obtained by calling the Services for the Disabled, (631) 893-1050. The form must be completed in its entirety and signed by a physician. - A note from a physician on a prescription pad recommending the individual to be issued a Handicap Parking Permit
- A description of the disability and whether it is permanent or temporary

Transportation services are provided on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for medical appointments and on Fridays for shopping needs. Interested applicants need to submit a doctor's note to Services for the Disabled at least one week prior to their scheduled transportation needs.Services for the Disabled

Services for the Disabled
All requests for handicap parking signs should be submitted in writing to:

Please provide the location where the signs are requested and a brief description of why the signs are being requested. The location will be examined to determine if the signs are appropriate with regard to traffic control in the area and to determine if they conform to the requirements established under state and federal laws.
