PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2026 AT 6:00PM DUE TO BLIZZARD CLEANUP.

Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilman and Human Services Chairman DuWayne Gregory and the Department of Human Services are proud to present the 38th annual Black History Month program - "A Century of Black History Commemorations" on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Amityville Memorial High School, 250 Merrick Road, Amityville, NY. The event will include: 

  • Master of Ceremonies: Mr. Kevin Bostin-Hill
  • Vendor Market
  • Entertainment from the Amityville Memorial HS Jazz Band, Venettes Cultural Workshop, and vocalist Jerome Lewis
  • Keynote Speaker: Dr. Georgette Grier-Key
  • Honorees: Bethel A.M.E Copiague, Bethel A.M.E Babylon, NAACP Central LI Chapter, Holy Trinity Baptist Church, and Ebenezer Baptist Church Babylon.
