Italian Food Festival

Lindenhurst, NY – Town of Babylon Councilman Anthony Manetta, in collaboration with Town Clerk Gerry Compitello and the Sons and Daughters of Italy Constantino Brumidi Lodge, proudly hosted the first-ever Town of Babylon Italian Food Festival last weekend. The event, held on the Babylon Town Hall Great Lawn, attracted residents and visitors alike, offering Italian cuisine, cultural exploration, and community spirit.

The festival showcased the vibrant Italian-American history of the Town of Babylon, with a presentation held in the Town Board Room. Guests enjoyed a feast for the senses with an array of Italian delicacies from food vendors across Long Island, savoring the flavors of traditional dishes.

The air was filled with the sounds of music and laughter as recording artists Angelo Venuto, Maria Venuto and Carmelo Raccuglia entertained the crowd with live performances, creating an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie. Councilman Manetta's sixth annual pasta and food sauce drive saw generous donations from attendees, reflecting the community's commitment to supporting their fellow Long Islanders in need. And a Cadillac car show was held, with classic vehicles on display, spanning decades of automotive history.

Councilman Anthony Manetta expressed his gratitude, stating, "I'm thrilled to see such overwhelming support for our inaugural Italian Food Festival. This event not only celebrates the rich heritage of Italian-Americans in our community but also reinforces the spirit of unity and generosity that defines Babylon." Town Clerk Gerry Compitello added, "The festival provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to come together, enjoy delicious food, and learn more about the cultural tapestry that enriches our town. It was a true celebration of rich culture."
