Babylon residents are educated about their homes' efficiency by BPI (Building Performance Institute) contractors that're certified energy auditors to make recommendations for improvements. The smart upgrades will pay for themselves over a few years, providing sustainable savings! 


What to expect

  • A professional energy audit of your home
  • Insulation upgrades (especially attic, walls and basement) 
  • High efficiency heating and hot water systems along with heat pumps/mini-split systems
  • Duct sealing and proper home ventilation
  • Weather-stripping, air sealing, and caulking of problem areas to prevent heat loss.
  • Access to low-cost financing at 3%

How it works

  1. Complete the 'Self Check Inventory'.
  2. Share 2 years of utility bills from PSEG & National Grid OR your independent heating oil company. 
  3. Our office will contact you to schedule a home energy audit with a Town licensed, BPI-certified local independent contracting company. 
  4. After the test, you will receive a home energy assessment and recommendations regarding upgrades 
  5. Then work with a contractor to choose your desired improvements. You may either pay directly or finance the cost through our program at 3%.
  6. Your home is now safer, more comfortable, less expensive to operate, and more valuable. 

Who's eligible? 

Anyone who owns a home in the Town of Babylon AND is up to date on their property taxes.

This includes homes in: Amityville Village, Babylon Village, Copiague, Deer Park, East Farmingdale, North Amityville, North Babylon, North Lindenhurst, West Babylon, Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch.
